Centrica Care Navigators - Kalamazoo, Michigan

AR Engineering worked with Diekema Hamann Architecture and Engineering to transform a 24,000 sq ft furniture store into a new office for Centrica Care Navigators, formerly known as Hospice Center of SW Michigan.  The project is located on Stadium Drive and included removal and reconstruction of pavement, improvement of barrier free access, and the addition of an 85 space parking lot with lower-level access. The stormwater design improved on-site drainage and included underdrains that connected into the existing system.

Integrated Services of Kalamazoo - Kalamazoo, MI

AR Engineering had the opportunity to work with Integrated Services of Kalamazoo (ISK) on the development of a new mental health emergency room in downtown Kalamazoo. This 8,000 sq ft project will be adjacent to ISK’s existing mental health building, and will provide additional parking and services. The team at AR Engineering partnered with the City of Kalamazoo to develop an underground storm water detention system that would prevent overloading the existing storm system and the spread of on-site contamination.

Bronson Primary Care

Seven Locations in Southwest Michigan

In January of 2019 Bronson worked with a group of doctors to transition them into practice under Bronson. These practices required new buildings that needed to open in July of 2020. Bronson utilized a prototype building designed by Diekema Hamann Architecture and Engineering, along with the team at AR Engineering. AR Engineering designed site plans and assisted with necessary approvals through multiple jurisdictions. All buildings were completed on schedule and on budget, due to the collaboration between Bronson, CSM Group, Diekema Hamman and AR Engineering.

Bronson Cancer Pavilion

Kalamazoo, Michigan

Bronson Healthcare Group was in need of an in-house cancer center for patients and commissioned Diekema Hamann A&E to begin the design planning for the project and AR Engineering was brought on board once some building details were finalized. This building is a 5-story cancer center just south of Bronson Hospital and was somewhat complicated. We assisted the team in navigating floodplain and environmental issues along with coordinating with the City of Kalamazoo on storm, sanitary, and water connections to some complicated downtown existing infrastructure. Not only did this project include a small parking lot around the building but we also assisted with a new drive entrance off of Burdick Street along with a new parking lot and upgrades to two other parking lots on adjacent parcels.

Allegiance Health Chronic Care

Jackson, Michigan

AR Engineering provided Civil Engineering services for the renovation of the existing Allegiance Health Chronic Care facility. The project included parking reconfiguration and addition, storm water system revamp, fire protection main, bulk oxygen tank, and accessible route analysis and redesign. The extreme site grades presented grading and accessibility challenges.

Ann Arbor Dept. of Veteran Affairs - Ann Arbor, MI

In Fall of 2015, the Department of Veterans Affairs in Ann Arbor encountered a significant breach in their electrical conduit penetrations in the mechanical room of Building 31. AR Engineering provided civil services for the emergency investigation and repair of the high voltage electrical feed to Building 31.  The solution involved inspection and analysis of the issue, all-encompassing measures to ensure the intrusion was resolved, and to address other drainage problems in this constricted area. The area presented multiple challenges given the congestion with buildings, walls, utilities and other features unable to be disturbed.
