AR Engineering was happy to attend Canteen North America’s groundbreaking ceremony in July for their new facility in Comstock Township, Michigan. The vending and dining service company will call this new 41,000 SFT facility home once construction is complete. AR Engineering is proud to have provided multiple services for the successful completion of this project, including topographic/boundary surveying, civil site design, and construction staking. We are excited to be part of a great team, and look forward to future projects with Nuway Construction and Callander Commercial!
AR Engineering Salsa Garden
The team at AR Engineering planted an office garden this spring, with the hopes of being able to close the season with a salsa party. It was a VERY productive garden with bumper crops of tomatoes and jalapeno peppers, many green peppers, a few cucumbers, and a handful of habanero peppers. We didn’t get the timing quite right to make salsa, but it was a fun activity, and we very much enjoyed the vegetable harvest! We tried to produce some strawberries but had an issue that even beer couldn’t resolve. Hopefully this will be an annual tradition!
At AR Engineering, our company culture encourages staff to learn new skills that will promote growth opportunities. We want to congratulate Whitney Pizzala for earning one of the Project Management Institute’s widely recognized certificates – Project Management Professional (PMP®). The PMP® certification validates those with the skills to perform the role of a project manager and team leader. Whitney’s role at AR Engineering demonstrates she has the skill to lead our teams, she continues to seek growth opportunities and is currently participating in this year’s ACEC of Michigan Emerging Leaders Program.
WMU Football Game
On August 31, 2023 the AR Engineering team and families got together to attend the first WMU football game of the season. We tailgated before the game and enjoyed a variety of dishes brought by our team. Brian Chobat brought his Blackstone and did the honors of grilling for us....and donned some great attire! Everyone enjoyed playing corn hole, ladder ball and a few intense rounds of Kube before kickoff. We had a good time cheering on the Broncos, WMU provided great fireworks during halftime, and it was a good time spent with our AR Engineering team, significant others and families.
2023 ASCE Golf Outing
On Friday August 11, 2023, AR Engineering participated in the ASCE Annual Golf Outing at the Lynx Golf Club in Otsego, Michigan. The team consisted of Andrew Woloszyk, Emily Grunewald, Spencer O’Dell and Whitney Pizzala. This outing is held annually to raise money for ASCE student scholarships, and AR Engineering was excited to participate in this fun event to help a great cause.
