WMU Fall Engineering Expo

AR Engineering participated in the Fall Engineering Expo held in the Student Center at Western Michigan University’s Parkview Campus on September 18, 2024.  Whitney Pizzala and Spener O’Dell had the opportunity to meet students from the 14 ABET-accredited engineering and applied science concentrations who were interested in learning more about civil engineering, surveying and potential internship opportunities.  The team at AR Engineering always appreciates the opportunity to support students at WMU and we look forward to this great event every year.

Summer Golf Outings Support Scholarships

The team at AR Engineering participated in several golf outings this summer that provide valuable financial resources to support scholarships. Teams golfed in the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors annual golf outing and the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers annual golf outing. In addition, another team enjoyed the joint golf outing held by the American Institute of Architects Southwest Michigan and the National Association of Women in Construction Kalamazoo/Battle Creek. Besides supporting a great cause, these golf outings are perfect opportunities to connect with clients and colleagues.

AR Engineering participated in the 2024 Bronson Children's Hospital Run and Walk in downtown Kalamazoo. Perfect weather, fun activities, and an amazing community came together to exceed the fundraising goal!

2024 AR Summer Family Picnic

This year for our summer outing, the team from AR Engineering convened at our office for yard games and a delicious catered taco bar.  The weather was absolutely perfect, and we enjoyed meeting a recent four-legged addition to the AR team, as Andrew and his family introduced their new puppy.  We have also had a couple new births in the last few months, as well as recent employee hires so it was great to get to know them better and meet their families.  We are always appreciative of this opportunity to get together with family and enjoy a beautiful late summer evening.  However, we were so busy enjoying our time together that we failed to snap a single picture so please enjoy this cute taco cartoon in lieu of a picture of our staff and families. 

ASCE Scholarship Golf Outing

On August 9th, AR Engineering participated in the annual SW Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Golf Outing. It was a beautiful day for golf at The Lynx Golf Club in Otsego, Michigan. This annual event helps to support the Western Michigan University chapter of ASCE and this year the event raised $3,000 for the WMU civil engineering scholarship program and to support the WMU Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge Teams. AR Engineering’s Team of Sam Kindermann, Brian Chobot, Thom Carpenter and Luke Macleay recorded a respectable six under par for their round.
