On October 26, 2023, AR Engineering celebrated the last cookout of the 2023 season, celebrating with classic burger and dogs but added a holiday twist to get into the Halloween spirit. After lunch was completed, the team from AR Engineering spent time carving pumpkins and staff were divided into 4 teams. Each group carved their own pumpkin and designed ranged from the traditional jack-o-lantern twist to a ghost coming out of a fire hydrant.
Niles Scream Park
On October 21, 2023, AR Engineering took on the Niles Scream Park to get in the Halloween spirit. We started with dinner at El Rancho Viejo in Niles before braving the cold and rain at the park. The screams began in the Haunted Duplex, continued on the Haunted Hayride, through the Field of Screams and culminated in the Haunted House. However, most screams weren’t caused by the attractions, but as a result of Brian and Andrew hiding and jumping out as the team made their way through the dark twists and turns! It was a fun fall evening full of terror and frights.
Kimball Township Survey
AR Engineering was hired to complete an ALTA/NSPS Land title survey in Kimball Township, near Port Huron. The survey consisted of six different parcels, and encompassed almost 300 acres in two different sections. We needed to identify the ROW for I-94 along the East property line, as well as determine the ROW for the railroad bordering the North side of the property. Multiple B II exceptions were plotted, with over 100 pages of documents to read and some were more than 50 years old. The site was mostly undeveloped, with only a couple of man holes in very poor condition, an old building foundation and three large ponds. This survey was very difficult to complete, but with an extreme amount of time and patience we were able to get it done and to the client in time for closing.

The team was on their A game, as each member holed a putt over 50 feet. Each year, the outing helps raise money to fund scholarships for the SW Branch of the MSPE.
