AR Engineering is committed to the professional development of all its employees; over the winter months, several members of the AR Team completed MDOT training to further their knowledge and strengthen their abilities for public projects.
Whitney Pizzala completed the MDOT Prevailing Wage Training. Prevailing wages are required to be paid to construction workers for federally-funded projects. The course provided guidance to ensure payroll is correct and fair wages are paid to workers throughout the project.
Jason Raleigh took his MDOT Computerized Office Technician Recertification Exam. A Computerized Office Technician oversees and completes project documentation in the FieldManager and the ProjectWise programs required for MDOT let projects. With Jason’s certification, AR Engineering can continue serving local agencies with their construction inspection and documentation for MDOT/federally funded projects.
Brady Darrah spent three days at Ferris State University attending the MDOT hot mix asphalt paving operations course. He learned the proper techniques for calculations and reviewed examples of common field problems and their solutions. This will be invaluable knowledge to Brady when he is working in the field.
“The paving ops course has shown me what to look for in the field and given me a better solution to record-keeping and field note-taking. I look forward to using this information in the field this coming year!”
-Brady Darrah
The entire AR team is excited to see these three use their newfound skills on projects this summer!
